Health advocacy works from micro to macro levels and the way back linking individual experience with broader community related issues and addressing these to health policy.

Micro-Level/individual patient: knowledge, information and understanding, self-management expertise and shared treatment decision making capacity.

Meso Level/organisations: understanding of the broader context of care pathways and consolidated feedback from patients.

Macro-level/Policy: information to patients, implementation of patients’ rights laws, opportunities for patients to participate in health policy, transparency of the system, and access to healthcare.
